Takeru

"Hikari, look out!"

Why did it look like history was repeating itself...?

I could only manage a groan as the car shook with a second impact... at least it didn't seem so serious this round.

I tapped Hikari on the shoulder. "You okay? Maybe I should drive..."

::Yuri::

I put an arm around Miyako-san. "Don't be scared; this is gonna get better than any TV drama you've seen!"

I fill a cup of vodka for her. "Take a seat and enjoy the show!"

::Taichi::

"Maybe your brother will finally open his eyes and realize that my sister doesn't want him." I shrugged and tapped Yuri on the shoulder. I held up my empty milk glass, "Got any more? This is some good shit!"




::Yamato::

I had to get her to agree. "Hikari," I whispered sadly, "will you please sit with me?"

::Yuri:: (I think I'm exceeding my five-posts per day rule, though it's 12:08, so that might be a new day)

"Sorry," I tell Taichi. "I'm outta milk the moment Daisuke got his ass ran over. How about vodka? Work for you?"

(I remember Aana telling me its been changed to 10 a day... so which is it now? *confused*)

Takeru

Awww. My always-cool, always-unflappable brother now looked like a sad lost puppy. I got out of my seat and opened the car door. The ambulance appeared to be driving away, which was a relief. I went over to the front seat and tapped on the window, which Hikari rolled down.

"Switchover time?"

Miyako

I couldn't help myself - the look on Jun's face made me shudder. I manage to untangle myself from Yuri rather inconspicously. "Let's just hope we won't be the next victims of a beer bottle." I sighed.

::Taichi::

White gold was gone? That made me sad..


"Fuck it!" I exclaimed. "Man-chan, want one? On me."

Jun

"You're a jerk. I'm going to see my brother."

I got up and prepared to leave.

::Taichi::

She got up and I held a shot glass out to her. "To your brother's health!"

Jun

I mockingly raised an imaginary glass of my own, "And to your sisters... after I'm through with her."

::Taichi::

I knocked back my drink and leaned into Jun so that my hot, alcohol flavored breath was near her ear.

"Touch my sister, and I'll kill you."

I pulled away and smiled at Yuri. "Another round?"

Jun

I smirked, "Then maybe you should follow me to the hospital to make sure nothing happens?"

Under the insensitive exterior, I knew he was really just another wuss.

Daisuke

The drivers of the car that hit me were switching. Takeru and... Hikari-chan?! Oh, that's right! I remember now. She was the one driving the car that ran me over.

Ugh, the ambulance was pulling away. What the heck are these paramedics thinking? YOU WERE JUST IN A CAR WRECK. Talk out some insurance or something! Geez.

Sadly we never made it much further before I heard the engine suddenly start dying and we came to a halt.

I sighed in annoyance. Everything still hurt. And the angel on top of me seemed way too real. Her weight was pressing into my chest.

Oh no, I just realized we had come to a sudden stop... I hope that other car with Takeru and Hikari hadn't started driving towards us again...

BAM, another crash. The owner of the car they stole was going to be pretty pissed come morning. I could tell the damage done was now pretty severe.

::Hikari::
Fuck this. I'm going for a walk.

Takeru

"Hikari! HIKARI! Where're you going?? I need you now!" So I sounded whiny. She couldn't just walk out on us like that!!

::Hikari::
I turned around so fast I gave myself a headrush.

"What?" I must have sounded angry, because Takeru flinched. I mentally kicked myself before replying, trying to tone my voice down. He was a nice guy.

"What do you need me for? I'm just screwing things up." I went through the list in my head. Yamato's car was looking less than great due to my shoddy reaction times. Daisuke was now going to hospital with some chick that looked at me as if I was a bug. Oh, and the cherry on top of the icing- Yamato was blind because he tried to stick up for me. I really was just one big fuck-up today.

Takeru

Now I felt stupid. Running through what had happened earlier today, I couldn't exactly blame Hikari for acting this way... it had been, to put it mildly, a bad night for her.

"It's just that Yamato and I would really like it if you came along with us. For company."

Bleargh. I just didn't know what to say or do in this kind of situations...

Hikari still looked rather miserable, so I did the first instinctive thing that came to mind - I walked over to her and put an arm around her, hoping that this action would make her feel just a bit better... and that she wouldn't push me away.

::Hikari::
"I... Um..."

My head felt like it was full of gelatin. I was going to fall over, I was going to cry, I was going to do something stupid and he'd never talk to me again and work would be awful and I'd have to move to a different district and I'd never be able to sing again....

In the end, I just hugged him back.

"Thanks Takeru." We broke apart, somewhat awkwardly. "Um... Are you sure Yamato will be ok with me coming too...?"

Takeru

I smiled, feeling very much relieved now that she looked a little better.

"Of course he won't mind... he was practically pleading for you to sit next to him!"

We simultaneously turned to look at the car. Yamato was clearly visible in the backseat. His mouth was opening and closing rapidly and he was gesturing wildly. Of course we couldn't hear what he was saying; I think we got the gist, however.

We shouldn't be too far from the hospital now. Briefly, I wondered how Daisuke was doing. Well, if there were time I could probably visit him. For now, getting Yamato to the hospital was what mattered though... what if all the delay time rendered his blindness incurable?? I began to feel a little panicky.

I turned back to Hikari. "Shall we go?"

::Hikari::
"Calm down!" The boy was pretty much vibrating with worries. "Please, Takeru. I think you need to be the one driving..."

Takeru

That was true... we couldn't afford a fourth accident.

I took a deep breathe as I climbed into the driver's seat, Hikari settling down at the back. Yamato mumbled something that sounded like "finally". How I felt sorry for the blind...

I drove off, concentrating VERY HARD on the road this time. I could hear Hikari and Yamato talking softly at the back.

It was a huge relief when we finally pulled up at the pristine white building with the familar blue cross.

::Hikari::
The relief of finally reaching the hospital lasted a whole of three seconds. Because then I saw Daisuke get out of the ambulance.

I crouched behind the free seat- I couldn't be dealing with him right now.

Takeru

I managed to park successfully (go me!) and then noticed a familiar ambulance (read: dent on left side) pull up at the entrance. The doors opened and a stretcher was pulled out. There was no mistaking the spiky brown hair...

I turned to point this out to my fellow passengers, only to find Hikari crouched behind the chair.

I opened my mouth in surprise, the question already formed in my mind... and that was when I saw something.

A gigantic yellow and black buzzing SOMETHING.

And that was when I lost it...

"HOLY CRAP, A BEE!"

No big deal? NO BIG DEAL?! Blue had just abandoned me mid-kiss. To scratch his toe! Did his toe mean more to him than me?! I struggled to keep my thoughts calm, and too myself. I bit down on tongue, resisting the sarcastic remark that came oh-so-easily.

"I think..." My eyes trailed towards the bar, where I saw a friend from earlier, "I think Miyako-chan could use some company."

I scurried over to her, plonking down in the nearest chair. My eyes were watering. I needed a drink.


::Hikari::
Don't panic. Don't panic. It's just a little bee...

I closed my eyes and curled up even smaller, praying Takeru wouldn't go into hysterics and draw unwanted attention to us.

::Yamato::

"WHERE'S THE BEE!?"

I think I've lost all of my sexy credibility.

Takeru

"HOLY SHIT! IT'S ON YOUR NOSE! KILL IT!!"

Where was the bug spray when you needed one?????

Miyako

"Hey! It's you again," I looked up from my drink. "What's up? You're looking a little blue."

A rather scary frown crossed his face at that very word.

"Did I say something wrong?"

Catherine

The accident victim (I still don't know his name) was wheeled into the hospital and rushed into the ER. Since I couldn't follow him in, I've plopped down on a chair in the waiting room (after grabbing chocolate pocky from the gift store) and take out the boy's cell phone from my jacket pocket. The vodka bottle is safely hidden in my purse.

I flip open the cell phone and decide to look at the call log. It seems that he had called someone named Taichi just a few moments before the accident. I'll guess I'll start with him, then look through the phone's address book if this Taichi did not answer.

I hit the send button and it takes a minute before he answers.

The confused male voice on the other says in shock, "Daisuke?"

"Um, no. I'm Catherine and I-"

I'm cut off as I hear a scuffling sound at the other end of the phone. Taichi cursed audibly and then a female voice shouted at me through the phone.

I blink confused.

"I'm not Hikari! I'm not Hikari!" This seems to stop the woman's angry triade and I continue, "My name's Catherine and I came with Daisuke to the hospital. He's in the ER right now."

The woman barks that she's coming and hangs up the phone.

I lean back in the chair with a sigh and am about to open the box of pocky when I hear a male voice screaming outside about a bee. Through the window, I see it is the blond boy from before who called for the ambulance; beside him the embaressed looking Scary-chan was trying to lead the second blond into the hospital inconsipicously. At the same time she was trying to calm downt the second blond by attempting to blow the bee away.

I rub my temples.

Daisuke's friends were coming to the hospital and if they find out the trio over there is responsable for his condition all hell would break loose.

And the day had started off so well...
