Okay. I have just come back from 5 days at my dads, 2 and a half hours North.

For one of those nights (the first night), I had the 'pleasure' of my 4 year old cousin, Robbies' company. Now, he has never been away from his mum before, so I knew it would be trouble.

Little did I know that he would scream constantly once it got to bed time, and we had to pacify him with watching 'Bee Movie'.

HOWEVER.

His mum and dad collected him the next day, and they stayed for a bit of tea. Now, 95% of dinner went fine. But for some reason once he got to the last scraps of his meal he started crying, saying 'he couldnt feed himself'... HE CAN.

So Hell almost broke loose.

I didnt get any sleep when Robbie was there (or any other night actually, but that's another matter), so I was in no mood for tantrums.

No kids for me!

I know exactly how you feel.
I can't handle kids. Which is why I don't want to be a teacher, although most people who go to the same university as me end up as teachers. I'd sooner stay a waitress for my whole life. Or I might have to translate a whole book per day, but I could take it. At least adults can be rational sometimes.

I never want to get pregnant.

Now I feel left out, cause I actually like kids.

But whiny kids, no.

I like kids, but I don't really know how to handle the tiny ones. I teach a couple, and they can be real brats!

A little girl I was looking after for an evening bit me once. I've been anti-brats ever since.

I have no problem with little kids...
But I also have 4 younger siblings, so I'm not allowed to not like them.

I love little kids. I can't walk past them without smiling and waving.
They're great fun- especially when they want to hoop too! Though it's kinda hard to teach them. They just throw them.

...Speaking of which, I'm surprised Emma hasn't mentioned The Incident where she made a friend...

Ahh... yes.
Weell, Aana & I hoop in the Abbey Gardens. That day we chose to do it by the swings as it was a nice day =)

Anyway, this little kid, maybe a year and a half old toddled up to us and wanted to play with them. So I gave him mine and he threw it about, obviously not getting the idea of hooping. (He saw me throw it high and tried to do it).

His mum (?) came and tried to drag him away several times, but he kept screaming and coming back. So eventually we went, and he screamed his poor little heart out.

Poor kid.

I don't mind the cute ones... you know, the ones whose cheeks you have the urge to pinch??

The whiny, bratty ones get on my nerves, although my younger sister used to have those exact traits and I've learned how to block out the sounds of screaming rather well...

If (or when) I have my own kids, they will be very well-behaved. And adorable. And intelligent.

And I will love them because of it.

There's a time frame when I do like them... 1 day old to 1 year. After that... forget it.

I have ZERO patience for screaming, coloring on walls, playing with my cell phone/iPod/laptop/EVERYTHING I OWN, and staring at people like they've never eaten in their lives.

I have two little cousins, one's 6 and the other is 5. I used to babysit them almost every weekend, for the whole weekend when I was 17. I never want to have kids and I blame Julian and Ariana (my cousins). I swear, I thought I would kill them.

Little kids make me feel claustrophobic.

I know EXACTLY how you feel.

My sister is a good person, but sometimes I wonder if she was born with a brain. She had her first baby last year in May. For the first month and a half, she lived with us in our basement, even though she had her own apartment. The reason? She was lonely. Her fiancee was stationed out in Pearl Harbor and was only able to be home long enough to help with the baby being born. A month and a half of a screaming, wailing child all night when me and my little brother had to get up for school in the morning.

As if that wasn't enough. I was out of town over them summer for about three weeks, and my mom and grandpa picked me up from the airport. After we dropped my grandpa off, my mom started crying in the car on the way home. I thought of something to cheer her up, and jokingly I said, "Sis isn't pregnant again, is she?" Sometimes I hate it when I'm right. FOUR MONTHS after Aurora was born, she was pregnant again when her fiancee was on leave.

Dealing with a pregnant woman for almost two straight years is unbearable. I honestly don't know how I made it out with my sanity.

Aah, pregnancies are always difficult to deal with, no matter what the circumstances.

Aurora is a beautiful name though Smile

I've been tutoring alot for the sake of good ol' cash... and those kids really drove me up the wall! Beneath those cute, innocent eyes are the souls of LITTLE DEVILS. And oh, swearing starts at like, a much younger age now! XD

Everything starts at a much younger age these days.

Today, I spotted a group of young girls (of about 11 or 12) walking around in tiny shorts/skirts and ridiculously low halter tops -they don't even have anything to show off!

... I know, I'm getting old.

As in started smoking or once smoked?
'Cos that's pretty bad.

I remember a woman in my old neighbourhood who'd become an alcohlic at 12, not pretty.

I think it was start, stop, restart age 13.

I don't know why, but I hate it when kids dye they're hair... (Note: "kids" = anyone under the age of 15. 17 if they're going for the peroxide look).

I used to get those short-term colourful highlights, they were so cool at the time. I'd probably laugh at any kid doing the same thing now though.

Oh, and while we're on the peroxide look: I saw this lady in the street the other day. Very tanned skin, big dark eyebrows... and rootastic practically yellow hair. Suspect

It appalls me how much young girls are in such a hurry to grow up. Growing up... well, it really isn't so great.

I can understand where you're coming from about young kids tho. It makes me disappointed to be walking through Wal-Mart or something and seeing some bratty kid throwing a temper tantrum every two aisles or so.
