M: A SugarSpiral MST: DK_Mykan's "The Digi Dudes"

The room is big and white. The only noticeable feature of the room is a large white rectangle, not unlike the canvas screens used with OHP’s(1). It reaches floor to ceiling, and its ominous presence is slightly intimidating in the eerie silence...

A door you hadn’t noticed before opens. The creepy stillness is shattered by a babble of impatient sounding voices.

Voice #1: So… Who knows where we’re headed?

Voice #2: How should we know Davis? You’re supposed to be the leader.

Voice #1: Can it, TS.

Voice #3: You know, I would’ve quite happily stayed at Ken’s house today. But oh no, the minute His Royal Goggleheaded’ness got a mysterious phone call about at deadly Digimon loose in the sewers of Obida, and we all have to go snooping through other peoples-

Voice # 4: Will you guys shut up? You’re making Sora nervous.

Voice # 5: It’s ok Sora, I’ll hold your hand...

Voice # 4: Back off there, Tai.

Voice # 6: It’s ok you guys, don’t worry. Kari’s taking great care of me.

Voice # 1: Hey! Kari’s my girl!

Chorus of All Other Voices: No Davis, she's really NOT!

Suddenly, a goggle-clad boy trips through the door frame, and mutters something darkly before standing up to brush himself off. It takes him a minute or two to realise he’s not in the sewer anymore, and surprise turns to triumph across his face.

Davis: Hey guys, come look! I’ve found a way out!

The rest of the Japanese DigiDestined squeeze in through the tiny door, and stare about in wonder. They appear as-they-were in Adventure 02. They take a moment or so to observe their surroundings, and then a one of the older kids -a male with a bushy brown mane– bangs his head against the wall.

Tai: Oh drat. We’ve walked straight into a... *heaves a sigh, and goes to sit down in a beanbag chair that magically appeared a second after his head met the wall*

Yolei: *scowling at Davis* Way to go, jerk. *perches next to Ken on the arm of a rickety-looking arm chair with an expression of reluctant resignation*

TK: *comfortably squished on the sofa in between Kari and Izzy* Mmm… Gotta love that [i]just-materialized smell.

Sora: Come on guys, may as well get this over with. It may not be that bad… *settles down onto a beanbag to the right of Tai. Matt takes the one on her right, and the love triangle takes a physical appearance.*

Davis: I don’t get it, what’s going on?!

All DigiDestined par Davis: It’s a MST, Daisuke.

At the sound of the magic word, the lights dim out. There are a few shuffles and squeaks as everyone tries to get a good seat. Once there is a distinct lull in the background noise, the screen lights up and words begin to rise up the screen. Like movie credits.




Sora: Guess us girls are safe then.

Mimi: I wonder if I’ll be in this?

Izzy: Well, I always thought you were quite feminine…

Matt: *whispering to Tai* But you should never take things for granted.



Kari: Hang on… Daikari?

TK: *confused* Why does that word give me a strange sinking feeling

Ken: Well if you put Daisuke and Hikari together…

Chapter One: Cool Voices

Five years had passed Since Maylo-Myotismon

Sora: Who now?

and the Digi denstined saved the two worlds from total Oblivion.

Matt: *notices Izzy is in fact convulsing on the ground and giggles nervously*

Mimi: Izzy, what’s wrong?!

Izzy: *between convulsions* Bad… grammar… random… capitals….

Tai: Maybe we should take him to a doctor?

Now that the deed was done, they all went back to living their normal lives,

Kari: Oh yeah, because living with Tai was normal.

Matt: Just casually y’know, just to check MaloMyotismon isn’t trying to screw everything up again.

Davis actually worked up the nerves to ask Kari out on a date long ago,

She and Cody had been going out for a while, and Cody actually learned not to be so stubborn.

Cody: I think I’m starting to see why SugarSpiral dislikes this guy so much…

he learned to be a whole new guy, especially since he even grew in height a little, so he wasn’t quite as short as he once was.

Mimi: You can see what he means though. One minute Cody’s stubbornness had got him a lady friend, then he’s learnt not to be stubborn –even though it sounds like that was something that endeared him to Kendo-chick or whatever- and then he’s grown a little, well of course he’s grown, it’s been about five years! And by saying he’s grown, the comment about him not being as short as he once was seems kind of pointlessly cruel and doesn’t really make much sense anyway!

Izzy: *is looking at Mimi in a whole new light*

Summer vacation ended a while ago, and they had all just completed their first few weeks of school.

Mimi: *goes off on a rant about how that sentence was almost entirely pointless*

TK: *pokes Izzy gently in the ribs* Earth to Izumi, Earth to Izumi… do you read me?

Izzy: *irritated at being disturbed from his lovestuck state* What?

One Friday afternoon, near the end of the month, Kari and Davis were outside doing their homework under a tree in the shade.

Yolei: After about three minutes of trying to stop Davis copying her answers, Kari gave up and threw her book at Davis. It struck him straight between the eyes, killing him instantly.

Ken: Wow…. That was pretty dark for you, Yolei.

Davis: Yeah! And I never copy Kari’s answers anyway!

Yolei: I know, you copy me!

Kari also had brought along her boom box

Joe: Oh seriously, who even has one of those any more?

TK: *getting slightly huffy again* What, the fact that Kari brought it with her despite us not being allowed to take “portable” music systems into school, or the fact Davis brought her a hideously outdated piece of junk for her birthday?

Now Kari could play her favorite CDs she got from a Pop star convention she and Davis went to last summer.

Matt: *places a caring hand on her shoulder, to Tai's discontentment* Maybe we’ve just become hopelessly out dated in our old age?

They both agreed that

Kari: They’d been much better off as friends, and they broke up. And Kari became a nun.

Music helped them study, but when one special song came up,

TK: *hopefully* Daivs’s head exploded, and Kari fell in love with someone else…?

Kari: I’m a nun, remember? NUN'S DON'T LOVE!

Yolei: What about love for God?

Kari: God doesn't count. He's old and invisible.

Matt: *clamps hand over Mimi’s mouth and whispers in her ear* If you make any more semi-intelligent remarks about this guys bad grammar, Izzy’s gonna need new shorts. So hush up.

Mimi: *blushes, and turns to look at Izzy. As their gazes meet, the atmosphere becomes a lot more fluffy*

“Hey… it’s Nsync’s

Sora: I believe you mean 'N Sync. Or, if you wanna be stylised, *NSYNC.

Tai/Matt: *stare curiously*

Sora: *blushes slightly and starts mumbling* Might’ve had a… childhood crush… Justin Timberlake…

Yolei: What a great opportunity for us to say goodbye!

Kari: No, I really don’t… I wasn’t really into boy bands as a kid. Too busy trying to not get abducted by evil Digimon.

Ken: Who didn’t have the slightest idea of what he was agreeing with, as he was too busy copying Kari’s answers.

Yolei: *smiles gratefully at Ken* Thankyou.

“I know it all word for word!”

Davis: No I don’t! I never listened to ‘N Sync as a kid… or Backstreet Boys, or Hanson, or any of the great ’90s boy bands!

Everyone else: Suuuure…

Oh really.” Teased Kari,

Tai (a la Kari): Well, I was actually kidding. I hate this song!!

“Alright...!” said Davis clearing his throat,

Joe: But as he opened his mouth to cough, a small moth flew down his throat. Poor Davis chocked to death. What are the chances, aye?

Izzy/Mimi:*in perfect sync* He missed his voice?

It sounded exactly like one of the boys themselves.

All other males: *erupt with laughter*

Davis: I’m going to shoot myself…

Davis’ singing captured Ken,

Yolei: Kinky.

TK’s and even Cody’s attention too.

Cody: *screams* ARGHH! Why do I always get portrayed as the short, monotone Kendo freak!

TK: Hey, it’s not like that at all…

Davis: Yeah, you’ve grown in this fic, remember?

“Man… I love that song!” said TK. “I sing along with it whenever I hear it.”

Matt: That’s what you were singing in the shower!?

TK: No, I was singing Mamma Mia… HEY! I don’t sing in the shower! *blushes*

“Me too…” said Cody. That came as a shock to everyone,

Cody: *sighs*

but it faded, after all, Cody did have a life

“Hey Davis… think we can join you!” asked Ken during a pause.

The Next Day…

With their homework all done, and the weather still nice, Kari and Davis decided to head out and have a little fun.

TK/Tai/Kari: NO!

The even met the others having their lunch in the park, together, and asked for them to join.

As was expected, the girls kept going on and on about yesterday,

Everyone par Yolei: *raise an eyebrow*

Yolei: Ok, I never use violence towards Ken!

Ken: What about that time when you slapped me…

Yolei: You were being a jerk.

For Ken’s Sake, the boys got up and Sang it again, and now they sounded and danced even better than before.

Sora: Great.

When the song ended, Mina passed the boys something from her bag,

Matt: Drugs reference, anyone?

Yolei: Innuen-! *her exclamation is cut off by Ken promptly kissing her on the mouth. Everyone blushes and averts their eyes, but are secretly glad*

The conversation carried on, and the boys said they’d each think about it a bit…. But it wasn’t for that long.

Tai: As everyone soon forgot, and they all went to their separate homes.

Four other girls, who were actually the tough customers of Obadiah High overheard them.

Kari: So we’re just pushovers, huh?

“You boys try out… P-Lease!” said one of them. “The only thing you guys could try out for is last place!”

TK: You’re right. Lets not bother.

Erika stood up, “Put a sock in it!” she snapped, “Our boys have the coolest voices… why they could sing circles around you in a second!”

Everyone: Shut up Erika. You’re not even real.

One of the girls just pushed her back down to her seat with her finger,

Mimi: Polite.

“Oh right… you’re “BOYS” are the Digi destined.” She said in sarcasm.

Sora (a la Erika): Actually, I’m twice as masculine as them…

“Why waste your time with theses Digi Dudes, and get yourselves some real men!”

Kari: Uh... thanks?

The girls had to run when Yolei started charging at the them

When the girls were gone, Yolei sat back down and sipped her soda with anger. “Those snobs!” she growled. “What do they know about true Singing?”

The boys sweat dropped,

Everyone: BAD ANIME REFERENCE!!

but they decided to sign up anyways. Their chosen Sing

Izzy: *whacks head against laptop*

Mina promised to drop it off to the school first thing on Monday, which gave the boys three days to rehearse.

Kari:…Yeah, coz that made sense.

That night, Davis and Ken were on the phone

Yolei: *suspicious* You better not be cheating on me…

Kari: On the contrary! Cheat on me as much as you like Davis- in fact, why don’t you elope?

“Do you really think we should’ve signed up like that?” asked Ken.

TK/Cody/Ken (a la Davis): NO!

“Well… it is for the girls!” said Davis, “And I would do anything for Kari…

Kari: Is that so? BREAK UP WITH ME THEN!

so we may as well give it a shot!”

Tai: Or, you could just give yourselves a shot. Straight between the eyes, with a bullet.

Ken smiled on the other end, “I guess you’re right.”

Ken (a la Ken): I’d do anything for Kari too…

Yolei: Ken!

He said. “I’ll see you tomorrow!” and they both hung up.

Davis put the phone down,

Joe: But tripped over the cord, and died.

Sora: You're fairly morbid today, aren't you Joe?

and went to bed still thinking about what could happen in this gig really worked out.

Everyone: *looks at each other in fear*

TK: There’s more…?

I had so much fun with this first chapter, and I plan to update soon...

There is something beautiful about MST'ing. I'm not sure what it is, but when you take a story that has been so... yeah, and change it so people can laugh... Well, I'd like to thank Daikari-King_Mykan for writing this junk in the first place. I don't see why some people get offended by MSTs. If you're putting your work out into the world (particularly via the internet), some people are going to dislike it, and if they can make reading it bareable, I tip my hat to them. I kind-of-wish sosmeone would MST Blink Boy, Blink for me- it's terrible, and there is a lot of space for "corrections" lamo.

I kinda wish Mykan himself would read this... whatcha think?

I dunno... he might then add a whole NEW paragraph to his incredibly large profile, whining and such as per usual XD

But he can't get me into trouble on FF.net, as I haven't broken any rules and it'd be kinda nice to see what he thinks...
