It is mostly based on fact that's been twisted into wonderful madness! Hope you enjoy it!

The Untimely Misfortune of BenignUser

For as long as he could remember, BenignUser was seen as a slightly awkward being. He was looked upon strangely and he felt like he never truly fit in.

And then, by the power of the Force and all his lucky stars, he stumbled upon the source of all life… The Digi-Challenge Forum.

Perhaps it was merely his inability to let go of a nagging curiosity to see what this wondrous place had to offer. Whatever the motivation was, he joined.

At first he was hesitant, only participating in the least way possible. A post in the occasional thread was fine for him. It kept his anti-social tendencies in check.

One day, Gennai came to him, in the form of Aana. She coaxed him into joining the new RP. This was an uncomfortable situation for him. It involved interacting with the often random members who were, to not mince words, somewhat crazy. But for the sake of breaking out of his proverbial shell, he agreed.

Many people, a genie and a princess included, wondered about his ability to write humor as many topics in the RP usually called for. The reason was simple; Benign seemed like a pretty quiet, non-communicative person. His username only served to emphasize his apparent meekness. For all they knew, he could think them absurd and psychotic, which, unbeknownst to a majority of them, was true.

Still, the question that was on everyone’s mind was the same: could a person who never talked to any of them really play their game? Could this newbie RP with the best of them?

Benign chose a character close to his heart, mostly likely because the one he truly wanted had already been snatched up by a seasoned RP veteran. He decided on a character that was his polar opposite. Benign clung to Motomiya Daisuke like a lifeline. Daisuke was the only thing keeping him from falling into RP obscurity.

And then came the moment of truth… his first post.

It was, to be frank, surprisingly good.

Gennai and the princess were flabbergasted. The newbie had not disappointed. A majority of the other RP-ers used short, non-descriptive posts to keep the story flowing, but not Benign. He took Daisuke to new heights by elaborating and including several character interactions all in one gratifying post after another.

Once the joy of his RP acceptance sank in Benign felt the weight he never knew was there being lifted off his shoulders. It was such a joyous feeling of accomplishment that he decided to partake in the fabled “FUN” threads.

Within the blue paged walls of the forum lurked a place that was not made for the faint of heart. Brave faces, quick fingers, and a sharp mind were necessary traits for any soul that dared trudge the waters of “Fun”.

Benign was worried. He knew he had the assets to make it in the fast-paced world of “Fun.” Still, he wasn’t sure whether he wanted to subject himself to the outlandish and sometimes comical subjects. Pushing his misgivings away, Benign took small steps into the worlds of “Word Association” and “Personality”, though his courage failed him when it came to the absurdly insane “Shag, Marry & Push Off A Cliff!”

Soon thereafter, he began to converse with Gennai. Now Gennai was perhaps the most eccentric being in the entire realm of Digi-Challenge.
Despite her obvious greatness, Benign had his own reasons to be cautious… alas, in the end, he found her to be just as fantastical as the rest of the forum members. And so began Benign’s first forum friendship.

The curse of female authoresses hit Benign soon thereafter when realization dawned on him that he was only one of two males on the forum.

At first, this knowledge brought a smile to his lips, but this happiness was short lived… for lurking in the shadows was his nemesis.

This foe was a man who, by forum standards, was pretty darn cool, went proudly by the penname ARCtheElite. He vowed to reclaim his title as “the most active male” after a rather dramatic exit of a former member. ARC put his greatest efforts forward and slowly but surely climbed to the top.

This worried Benign. Was he willing to share his newfound success? Was ARC to be his greatest foe or his closest ally in a world of female dominance?

Only time will tell…

Benign is looking to be quite the awesome guy! I'll be cheering him on in his battle for forum dominance and presence as the alpha male against the evil Darth Lord Arc. I can't wait for the next chapter, when the highlights begin coming in and he starts interacting with the Princess!
