DaisukeTakeru walked by and grabbed Yamato's attention, and now the two were arguing over the silliest of things. The top of which was why I was wearing what I was wearing and what Yamato was thinking when he had given me these clothes.
What was Takeru's problem anyways? I didn't care what I wore. 'Sides, it's not like it looked bad or anything. And to top this all off Yamato and I were having a conversation! How dare he come by and interrupt us.
Yuri had also decided to leave our little trio. I trailed after him until I saw him stop by a pretty young lady. Another foreigner. I've certainly been running into a lot of those today. She didn't seem quite comfortable around him, but I could tell he was slowly winning her over.
And of course without my two buddies around... I was left here on my lonesome. I suppose I could have gone to check up on Taichi, but he was already being surrounded by people. There was Miyako-san leaning down beside him, and right by her was that French girl, Sora and... Willis? When the heck did he show up?
There was another girl around. She looked just as left out of everything as I did. I took careful notice how much she was eying Takeru. A secret crush? Maybe, but she's just looking awkward standing off to the side and ogling him like that. I wish she'd get some courage go talk to the guy.
And that's when the light bulb clicked. This party was a mega snooze fest, and I decided it was going to be my job to turn this whole thing around. Now, where was that Iori?
I walked to the nearby window and grinned. There he was, floating just outside. I let him in and immediately sprung to action. "My dear Iori," I began, "You've picked a wonderful time to join us."
He looked a bit uncertain at my tone, but I merely grinned. I'm sure my lips were widening along the entire length of my jaw. I continued to speak to him, "We're about to have a little fun."
He landed on my shoulder, and I turned around to survey the room. The short and tanned brown-haired girl that was crushing on Takeru would be the first to face my wrath. I nudged towards her, "I wish she'd stop staring and actually go talk to Takeru already. She's been giving me the creeps."
One clap later I turned my attention elsewhere. Miyako-san was somewhat panicking. I grinned, knowing full well what she wanted. She'd been hanging around every single guy she'd come across today, "I wish she'd just pick someone and let 'em know she's available!"
I nodded in triumph when she began performing 'CPR' on Taichi-san. Both Willis and the blonde girl looked a bit shocked at the view. Sora looked a bit miffed; she does indeed look quite jealous. I could only wonder what Taichi would be thinking when he awoke from his little slumber. I briefly considered waking him up right now, but I figured I'd let the events play themselves out.
For my final wish I turned towards Yuri and the other foreign girl he was with. I shook my head. Yeah, sure, they were smiling and sharing drinks, but the dude was taking it way too slow. I pointed in their direction, "I wish he'd make his move already. She's not going to be waiting all night, y'know?"
Iori clapped once again, the wish made.
I was prepared to sit back and enjoy the show. Then again, not much happened involving me, did it? I was still kinda on the outside looking in, wasn't I? I had to sigh. I turned to Iori; my voice was rather gentle this time, "It's kinda funny for me to say this... especially after everything that's happened to me today..." I paused for a moment before continuing, "But I do kinda wish Hikari-chan was here."
I turned to Iori. He wasn't granting this wish, nor did I expect him to. He merely shrugged in my direction.
I collapsed to a nearby chair in defeat. It was then, for a brief moment, that I thought I heard footsteps coming from outside in the hallway. I briefly wondered if it had just been my imagination, or if not... well, who exactly were the new arrivals going to be?
