Mermaid Ken originated one dark, cold night, when I had a rather strange dream. You see, I had been flipping through the upcoming television shows for that weekend, and there it was. Digimon was playing once more, and I was ecstatic. However, I wasn't sure which season it was and that thought kept plaguing me for the rest of the night until I went to bed.

Where it haunted me some more.

In this bizarre dream, I was watching the episode of Digimon that was supposed to be playing the next day, but it was an entirely new season! You have no idea how excited I was. Anyways, all the characters got introduced and such (don't ask me their names or anything - I'll never remember), but when the theme song came on...

All the Digimon were mermaids.

They all had tails and swam... it was disturbing, to be honest. So, the next day I found out that it was actually the fifth season that was playing, and I also told Nina and Aana about this unusual occurence. Eventually, if I recall correctly, the conversation progressed until someone said, "What if Ken was a mermaid?"

Or something like that.

Immediately, Nina went and drew up her vision of this god-like creature, and Mermaid Ken was born. It was the happiest day of my life.
