It looks like they did a very covert technique - by setting a layer over top of a photo and filtering it to make it look painted. It's a very convenient tool when you're making visual novels. (I only know this because my friend is making one and she was complaining about not having the right amount of pictures for the bg's). _________________ This picture is made of epic win.
