| I'm not such a big fan of literature. Far too often people are trying to get some deep philosophical meaning or "rapport with the world" sort of thing with literature (even if the rapport doesn't exist in the text). |

| That's something I hate in Art. Personnal interpretations are fine, but must you babble out nonsense over my shoulder whilst I'm trying to appreciate the actual painting? (the reason I make sure I only go to museums when they're deserted) And I do see what you mean, Matt. I've come across people (of which teachers) who tend to annoy me that way. But sometimes finding symbolism and a connection to life in general can be fun! Take today, for instance, I had lit class, and we studied several novel extracts, all of which had a pessimistic view on relationships. Amongst other things, this lead to a class debate on whether jealousy is a sign of love or not. (It's so nooot ). Anyway, through interpretation and the likes, many of my classmates were brought to think about their view on love. _________________ I have my own reality, thank you very much. ~ "I was biting down hard on my lip, as I wrote you a poem in orange felt tip."

| Okay, give me some room people, major history rant coming. If I start offending anyone with names or words I use, I don't mean to. Hitler came onto the scene as a good guy, unbelievable, I know. See, he had this campaign that got everyone thinking he was the solution to Germany's financial woes. The country was in major debt, and the Deutshemark [German currency until 1990s.] was worth pennies to a dollar and eventually, even less than that. Unemployment was staggering. Then, after Hitler was elected, he brought on this idea that Jewish people had so much money and taking their possessions would stabilize the economy. And you know the rest, basically. Other than all the unnecessary deaths, thousands of jobs were created and post-war economies all over Europe were booming. _________________ love is like a thunderstorm ~ electricity and sparks ~ connecting earth and sky

| You seem to have forgotten to mention that anyone with Jewish blood was taken without warning from their homes to death camps to die. And the Hitler Youth. I took History about 3 years ago. Hated it, but I listened. _________________ "Ribbed For Her Koushiro." |

| Unfortunately, it's all true. Hitler would have never become popular if there wasn't a major financial situation going on. The U.S. was at 25% unemployment, Canada at 33% (which is bad enough), but Germany went up to (I think) 50% at some points. People were pretty desperate, or at least desperate enough to listen to Hitler's rants. Hitler basically stimulated the economy by having massive building projects (like the Autobahn), expanding the army (which created jobs in factories), and in general pleasing the majority of the public. I never heard about the part that Jews were "hoarding the wealth", but given Hitler's erratic/insane behaviour, I wouldn't put it past him. And when Hitler started to invade random countries, the wartime spending that the Allies/Axis were doing stimulated their own economies, especially when their own armies' expansions created more jobs. There's my history rant. |

| Yeah, that's how he got to power pretty much. Germany wanted to get back its former glroy both economically and politcally.Hitler used everyone he didn't like (Jews, the Romani, etc) as scapegoats. He was primarly elected on his rhetoric though. I thought I would share this. A writer recently said that there were only two times in history where someone was elected to a leadership position in their country by rhetoric alone. One was Hitler and the second was Obama. (Not anit-Obama. Just thought this was interesting bit of trivia.) _________________ Because I'm worth Kaname.
