Everyone has heard about the Chris Brown and Rihanna incident, right? It's pretty big over here. The alleged abuse and all that, yes? And them getting back together, yes? (NOTE: I use the word alleged not to say I don't believe it happened, but because I've never enjoyed being the one pointing fingers).

Ok, so it's a sucky place to be in. When the love of your life physically hurts you. It screws with your head, and your not sure what hurts more- the physical or the emotional pain. And in most cases, once domestic abuse starts, it doesn't stop... (NOTE: I didn't point out a particular gender- because in my experience I have come up against a woman beating the living daylights out of her husband. Not pretty).

But do you know what really, really makes me mad?

Once I looked up the statistics of how many hits it takes to make a woman leave her man (or the other way around)... and I can't remember the exact number. But it's not in the tens. Or the hundreds. It was the thousands- and just barely, by the higher numbers. And it's pretty common knowledge, especially amongst "psychiatrists".

So what makes Rihanna different?



Fuck all. She's only human.

I think it's disgusting the way the media have hyped the situation up. And if I ever meet anyone who tells me "Oh, she shouldn't have taken him back. She's setting a bad example." I will personally extract each and every single finger and toe nail. One by one, millimeter by millimeter.

It's only hyped up because they're both famous. You don't see "commoners" who are victims getting such spotlight.

Having said that, nobody really knows what happened, everything's based on rumours... so I say let them be. The girl can make her own decision, for God's sake.

It's a lifestyle...that she chose.

This is the way I see it, if you put yourself in the limelight, you are under constant observation. She's a role model, despite the fact that's she human. But she chose to be that.

Now am I saying that she's an idiot for going back to him. No. Do I think it was poor judgement, a little. But that's my personal opinion.

I don't think anyone should judge but like you said...she's human, so are all of those who judge her. That's a part of everyday life, celebrity or not.

If he really did beat on her, that's horrible.
If she went back, well that's her decision.
If he does it again, it's on both of them.

I hardly know anything about the whole Rihanna thing, so this is going to be more of a general thing. But I do think she's an idiot for taking him back. Not because she's giving a bad example(I save that for my Twilight ranting ), but because she's going back to an abusive relationship.
Last I checked: abusive relationship = not good. Whether emotionally or physically.

Being in love with someone doesn't necessarily mean a healthy relationship. But then it's about choice: Do you want to be a healthy individual? Or do you want to do anything for love?
Sometimes you can have both, sometimes you can't.

I find that nowadays there are just too many people ready to throw themselves away for a relationship.
